For his 50th birthday in 2004 the Deichtorhallen will exhibit the so far largest overall review of the works of the renowned German/Czechoslovakian artist. With new and up to now unknown groups of work, among them his complete and never shown photographic Œuvre and the leopard-, children- and whip-paintings of the last years, the exhibition shows the ‚invention machine’ Dokoupil as one of the most exciting and in the younger scene one of the most influential contemporary artists, - as the author of one of the most essential complete works of the last 25 years.

The exhibition includes 200 paintings, photos, drawings and sculptures of the „ Neue Wilde“ (new wild) of the early 80th until now. Especially for the Deichtorhallen the artist developed a diverse one-man-museum with 29 seperate rooms and 29 different styles.
