About the exhibition
This year's exhibition GUTE AUSSICHTEN – YOUNG GERMAN PHOTOGRAPHY at PHOXXI, the temporary home of photography at the Deichtorhallen Hamburg, presents two years' worth of work. The 13 winners of the renowned young talent award for graduates in the field of photography explore new horizons in the photographic medium. In their works, the artists deal with topics such as cultural multi-homeliness, urban tensions, mental states, and digital and generative image worlds.
Their artistic strategies and techniques showcase the medium of photography in its most dynamic form: images move in space, detach themselves from their medium, and develop live before the eyes of the viewer. The spacious exhibition architecture of PHOXXI also provides a venue for previously unseen installations and large-scale works.
