Code of Conduct
In view of current socio-political events and increasing polarization, particularly in the cultural sector, the Deichtorhallen are actively committed to the plurality of opinions and forms of expression in the spirit of artistic freedom. Artistic freedom is a fundamental value of our democratic society and has helped Germany to develop a unique, international and inspiring cultural scene.
As an internationally oriented, globally networked institution, the Deichtorhallen program thrives on the diversity of its themes and its global orientation. A free civil society is the basis on which we show art.
The Deichtorhallen are opposed to any form of discrimination based on gender, origin, nationality, religion, age, disability or political opinion, and expressly against anti-Semitism and Islamophobia. Sexual or other personal harassment and insults, coercion and violence or the threat thereof are not tolerated here in any way. They see themselves as a place that not only reflects plurality and democratic values, but also wants to actively protect and preserve them.
