Trailer: Philip Montgomery – American Cycles

Mexican-American photographer Philip Montgomery (born 1988) is known for his photojournalistic work, in which he portrays American society—its conflicts and alliances—in iconic black-and-white images. Whether in Minneapolis after the murder of George Floyd or in Miami during Hurricane Irma, his photographs are characterized by a palpable tension between the timelessness of his dramatic visual language and the urgency of the events depicted. With AMERICAN CYCLES, PHOXXI presents Montgomery's first major institutional solo exhibition.
