APRIL 26 − JUNe 3, 2012 at the house of photography

Since it was first launched back in 2004, House of Photography at Deichtorhallen had been pursuing the »gute aussichten (Good Prospects) – Young german Photography« project, which according to SPIEGEL magazine is »Germany’s most renowned competition for young photographers«.

This year, photography graduates again had the opportunity to submit their final year projects to the expert jury. Almost 100 entries were received from the various German universities, colleges and academies that offer graduate courses in photography − and the seven best chosen: Sebastian Lang, Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter, Johannes Post, Luise Schröder, Miriam Schwedt, Julia Unkel und Franziska Zacharias.

This year, yet again, the range of works on show is immense: documentary pieces alongside almost abstract images, moody black-and-white shots alongside large-format color scans, and stringent series alongside playfully conceptual pieces.
